Tips for File Preparation

For accurate and cost effective film output, please keep these tips in mind when building your file. Call us with any questions.
  1. Provide fonts, support files, and the most recent final file. Do not use attributes on your fonts. If you anticipate any changes to your art, please send your layers or working files.

  2. Send a current laser print of the final file showing trim size. Indicate which files are high resolution or for position only. Mark any changes to be made.

  3. Make sure all files are CMYK. Clearly indicate any special colors. Inform us of any special trapping issues

  4. Check that each file has a unique name. Never change a file name after it has been placed.

  5. Do not exceed 200% in resizing scanned images. Drawing program objects with more than 2000 anchor points will not print.

  6. PC (IBM) files should be labeled so they are easily identifiable. Example:
    Adobe Illustrator: filename.ai or filename_ai.eps
    Adobe Photoshop: filename.psd or filename_psd.tiff
    QuarkXPress: filename.qxd
